ANN RUSSELL WHITEMAN is a graduate of theater arts from Northwestern University and has played Shakespeare’s heroines Kate, Celia, Beatrice, Maria, Phoebe, Titania, Juliet and "Prospera." Favorite critics' awards include Maria Callas/Master Class, Emma/Over the River and Through the Woods, Katherine/A Perfect Ganesh, Dawn/All in the Timing and Kate/Dancing at Lughnasa. Roles of infamous women include Sister Aloysius, Ouiser, Vita-Louise, Bananas, Amanda and Molly Sweeney. Directing credits include Shipwrecked, As Bees In Honey Drown, The Hypochondriac and 35 productions for reading stages and playwright forums. For Bas Bleu she directed Middletown, Psychopathia Sexualis, Humble Boy and Sight Unseen and appeared in Lend Me a Tenor, Other Desert Cities and The Outgoing Tide. Ann also appeared with the Arvada Center as Rebecca Nurse in The Crucible and with OpenStage as Lady Catherine de Bourgh in Pride and Prejudice, Mrs. Gottlieb in Dead Man's Cell Phone and Dr. Katherine Brandt in 33 Variations. As a Park Ranger for five happy seasons, she created walks n’ talks and campfire programs at Grand Canyon and Yellowstone National Parks.
