LAUREN THOMPSON is currently a student at Amherst College in Massachusetts, studying Theater and Dance. In her studies, she focuses on lighting and scenic design, but also enjoys stage management. Her recent work includes lighting design for the short plays Ronnie’s All-American Diner and I’m Fine, and stage management for the original piece, Portrait | Wound | Fragment. This spring, she will stage manage Big Love and will take on the position of Assistant Lighting Designer at Amherst College. This last summer, Lauren worked at the Santa Fe Opera as a technical apprentice in the Production and Music Services department, and works as a scene shop technician during the academic year. She currently is involved in production of the new American opera, The Scarlet Professor as an academic intern/research assistant. Lauren plans to continue down the path of professional lighting design and hopes to continue exploring her interest in graphic design and illustration.
