STARLA KOVAR joined OpenStage Theatre in spring 2005, working behind the scenes in OpenStage etcetera's production of Extremities as Stage Manager and Board Operator. Currently in her eighteenth season, she has worked with OpenStage on more than 20 productions. Most recently, Starla served as Assistant Director for Agatha Christie’s Murder on the Orient Express and Men on Boats, designed properties for Every Brilliant Thing and Natural Shocks, served as the Assistant Director and Set Dresser for Avenue Q and as Stage Manager for Steel Magnolias. Starla is a two- time recipient of the OpenStage OPUS Award for Outstanding Properties Design and Set Dressing. In 2021, Starla received the OpenStage Theatre Founders’ Award in recognition for her outstanding contributions to the Company
