DAVID GRINNELL first started working with lights and sets during his high school years with the York Theater Company in New York City. After studying Technical Theater at Macalester College and working professionally doing lighting in the Saint Paul/Minneapolis area, he took a fifteen-year hiatus to run off and join the corporate world. David rekindled his love of the theater with OpenStage Theatre’s 2012 relaunch of The Rocky Horror Show. Since then, he has worked in various capacities on the vast majority of OpenStage’s productions. This includes serving as the Master Electrician for Moonlight and Magnolias, Unnecessary Farce, North Plan, Monty Python’s Spamalot and Avenue Q. David was the Lighting Designer for the 2017 Essential Season production of Don't Dress for Dinner, and since the 2015 relaunch of OpenStage Etcetera, he has been thrilled act as Lighting Designer for its productions of The Submission, A Bright New Boise, Ultimate Beauty Bible, H2O, Ideation, The Mystery of Love and Sex and Fool For Love.
